Ingredients for turmeric apple mix
- 8 apples peeled and cored and cut into chunks
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp red espresso® turmeric latte powder
- 1tsp vanilla extract
- 1tsp organic maple syrup (optional)
- 50 ml water
- Zest of 1 lemon
Combine the following ingredients for the crumble
- 250 ml cake flour
- 250 ml oats
- 50 ml brown sugar
- 150 ml desiccated coconut
- 150 g coconut oil
Instructions
- Combine all the above in a saucepan and cook over medium heat with the lid on until the apples are cooked but still firm.
- Remove from heat
- Add a squeeze of lemon to taste. (You may not need lemon if using sour apples)
- Add 2 tbsp dried cranberries
- Place the cooked apples in an oven proof dish, cover with the crumble ( do not press it down) and bake in a preheated oven at 180•C for 40 to 45 minutes or until the crumble is slightly browned
- Serve warm as is or with cream, yogurt, ice cream or a non dairy alternative
