Our Rooibos is no ordinary tea

From crop to cup, every step sets it apart

Four hours north of Cape Town lies the Cederberg, an ancient landscape where Rooibos grows naturally — and nowhere else in the world. Part of the Cape Floristic Region, the smallest yet richest of the world’s six floral kingdoms, this unique area is shaped by the meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans, creating exceptional biodiversity.

Leopards roam free and the stories of the San, a nomadic tribe that roamed this area tens of thousands of years ago, are painted on cave walls. Most Rooibos tea is grown on lower-lying fields near towns with the help of irrigation and machinery. But the red espresso® Rooibos journey does not begin here, it begins on the highest plateaus of the Cederberg mountain, grown as close to nature as possible.
