For best results Dedicate a group head and porta handle to our ground rooibos and use ourRed Crema Plus (RCP) basket.Using a dedicated group head and porta handle prevents any coffee and tea flavours mixing. Our RCP basket ensures best extraction, flavour and crema every time by slowing the pour and removing the need to pre-infuse. Alternatively, dedicate a porta handle and rinse the group head when switching between coffee and our ground rooibos. You can also make our ground rooibos using your standard double filter basket and manually pre-infusing.

Using our RCP basket

  1. Scoop 14g ground rooibos (one level red scoop) into RCP basket
  2. No need to tamp
  3. Express double shot (60ml / 2oz)

Using a standard double filter basket

  1. Scoop 14g ground rooibos (one level red scoop) into standard double filter basket
  2. No need to tamp
  3. Manually pre-infuse to draw out flavour and a better crema:
    • Start expressing and stop when the pour starts
    • Wait 10 seconds
  4. Express double shot (60ml / 2oz)

Make it on an Aeropress

  1. Scoop 14g ground rooibos
  2. Fill with hot water
  3. Stir gently
  4. Allow to brew for 1 minute
  5. Plunge

Make it on a French Press

  1. Scoop 14g ground rooibos per cup
  2. Fill with just boiled water
  3. Stir gently
  4. Allow to brew for 2-3 minutes
  5. Press plunger down slowly

How much does delivery cost?

We offer FREE delivery on orders over R1 000 to all areas except outlying areas.

If your order is below R1 000, our delivery fees are between R65 and R95. The cost of delivery is determined by your delivery address.

If you are in an outlying area there is a delivery fee of R150 for all orders, regardless of weight. Free delivery is not applicable to your area.

How long will it take for my order to be delivered?

  • Main centres – 1 to 3 working days
  • Regional areas – 3 to 5 working days
  • Outlying areas – 5 to 7 working days

Please note that these timings are calculated from the time of dispatch, NOT from the time when the order was placed.

Red espresso strives to fulfil orders as soon as possible. Subject to availability and receipt of payment, the time it takes from when an order is placed to when it is dispatched for delivery is at most 3 working days.

For Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) no dispatch occurs until the money is cleared in our account. If you have paid via EFT, please make sure to email us your proof of payment preferably directly from your bank account on transfer to
