Culinary Matcha is green with yellow undertones and is the most affordable grade. It has a strong matcha taste and astringency which makes it perfect for lattes, smoothies, baking and cooking where you want the matcha flavour to pull through.
We offer two grades of Culinary matcha: Exceptional grade and High grade.
Astringent, umami. Strong Matcha
  • Strong matcha taste, with good astringency and bitterness.
  • Colour: Green with yellow undertone
  • The strong taste and astringency make it perfect for baking, cooking, smoothies, lattes etc. where you want the matcha flavour to pull through.
  • Best for: smoothies, frappes, cakes, pastries, pies, tarts, soufflés and practically all possible kinds of desserts, beverages and frozen treats
  • Harvest notes: 2nd /3rd flush of premium leaves, typically later in the harvest season
  • Culinary matcha is ideal in industrial applications such as baking, RTD’s, food preparations as it offers an authentic matcha claim, a strong matcha taste and colour at a cost-effective price.
  • The astringency of the matcha allows it to cut through recipes such as rich desserts, milk-based drinks, smoothies, baked goods etc.
